Modular 3-in-1 3D Printer
A new modular 3D printer has launched via Kickstarter this month and has raised over $8 million. There are over 5,600+ backers and only a few days left on the campaign. It maybe the biggest success story on Kickstarter for 2019. So we thought we the Snapmaker 2.0 would make a great project to review.
The Snapmaker 2.0 modular 3D printer combines three desktop devices into one, bringing a laser engraver, desktop CNC machine and 3D printer in a single powerful machine.
The team argues that the Snapmaker 2.0 is ideal for anyone interested in 3D printing, from “beginners who are just getting started, hobbyists who prefer more customized options, as well as engineers and designers who want to print large objects or accurate parts with outstanding print quality.”
Check out the demonstration video below to learn more about what this modular 3D printer can do.
Featuring an upgraded design and high-precision parts, the Snapmaker 2.0 can print, engrave, cut, and carve objects in high resolution. This gives it a multi-use purpose outside of just printing thanks to the CNC module it has built-in. It is also available in three different models depending on user’s needs and requirements ( A150, A250 and A350).
The smallest opposite workspace 160 x 160 x 145 mm while the largest offers a workspace of 350 x 320 x 330 mm.
The snapdragon is still available to back with pledges available from $799, that’s about 40% off the MSRP. The team is working hard to ensure starting delivery worldwide during January 2020 and onwards. Their earlier pledges which delivered in November of 2019 were all picked up already.
